The Parenting Pod

My DS had a lot of health problems when he was born. As a result we felt that co- sleeping was the best decision for us. I started it when he was a few days old and he is almost 3 1/2 and shows no signs of wanting to sleep on his own. It's not that I don't love cuddling with him, it's that he is just so big now that he literally beats me up in his sleep. He will flop all over the place and kick me, hit me, etc. (all in his sleep, not being mean or anything) and I wake up sore and covered in bruises. I am just SO ready to sleep in my "big girl bed" again and not get beat up by my toddler in my sleep.
Any suggestions?

I feel your pain, only I have a 6 year old that still ends up in my bed by morning every day. I have tried everything but nothing has kept him in his bed. We have tried gates, rewards, ect. We double gated his door, one gate ontop another and that worked until he learned to knock them down...

As for DD she will not sleep anywhere but in her room, but to get her to sleep once she was out of her crib was a nightware. we put a doorknob lock on her door on the inside so that we could only open it, (we have smoke detectors in all the rooms so I knew she was safe in there) and she figured out how to take that off, so now there is no door knob on her door, lol.

Ah, super. Next one is sleeping in their own bed from the second they are born! Isn't it amazing how they become little Houdinis the second they figure out that it's a "sleep in your own bed" kind of night? I shudder to think that he will be still sleeping in my bed when he's graduating high school!
