So, I was at the cemetery today doing a funeral service and things went pretty well. I tried to linger with the family but started feeling ill. So, I told the family to feel free to stay as long as they liked and that I would meet them at the luncheon shortly. I get halfway to my car and start seeing stars. It was very hot and I am sure I was dehydrated, but I thought it was just a head rush. I reached out and grabbed a tree to steady myself, but instead of getting better it got worse. So, I sat down in the grass hoping to get enough energy back to walk to my car. It actually got worse. I really thought I was going to pass out. So I staggered to my car and started praying "Oh God, just get me home." I suddenly felt a burst of energy and started driving home. I am sure I was speeding. I got home, walked up the sidewalk to my house and DH had locked the door. I had my keys, but you have to realize my world was spinning. I start beating on the door and crying. I am fumbling with my keys, and finally get inside. DH had been upstairs with the kids. So, I am sitting here on the couch trying desperately to get hydrated. I really don't think the family noticed, but it was really scary!

Had you eaten? I used to get this sometime when I didn't eat.

Please be careful if it happens again. You shouldn't drive when you are in this condition. That is very dangerous. It's the equivalent of driving drunk.

Hope you're feeling better and were able to get hydrated again. How frightening!

Eek! It's amazing you were able to make it home feeling like that. I had the same thing happen a couple years ago while standing in line at the concession building of the zoo and then - Bam - I went down. Totally fainted in front of everyone, except fortunately not DD. She was off at a picnic table with our friends.

How long did it take before you felt better?

I appreciate all of your concern - before I made the choice to drive home I really was feeling nearly 100% better and my house is less than 1/4 a mile from the cemetery (I had contemplated walking there, and boy am I glad I didn't). I would never have driven still feeling totally dizzy. The dizziness started up again once I got home, but you are right it was dangerous.

So, I woke up this morning with a horrible pain in my ear and knew instantly I had an infection. :( I had maybe one ear infection all my growing up years and now I've had two in a year and a half. Both in the same ear. So, now I have antibiotics. I told the doctor about the dizziness and about how my legs have been heavy and achy ever since. So, she is running a couple blood tests today. Hopefully I will know more this afternoon. She is checking my thryoid, potassium, CO2, sulfur, and one other level in my blood to make sure kidneys are functioning well. She said otherwise it is entirely possible that the leftover achiness and dizziness is a result of the infection in my ear. It must be pretty bad because she hardly got the scope in to look when she said, "Oh yeah, this needs antibiotics." UGH. She also asked if I had ear tubes as a kid because the ear drum had an old scar on it. Nope, it was probably just leftover from a time I decided it was smart to stick a pencil in my ear. So, I start the meds tonight and if things don't start getting better she wants me to come in for more testing.

Oh, you poor thing!! I've only had one ear infection in my life (Christmas 2008) and I was miserable! I'll take childbirth over the pain I had from that ear infection!

I hope all your other tests come back normal and that you start feeling better!
